Deadlift / Hip Hinge
Practice moving hips back and extending them for posterior-chain training. Learning the hinge comes before pursuing weight lifted from the floor.
Current example: Light Dumbbell Romanian Deadlift。A hinge starting from standing, with depth determined by control.
Scene controls: arrow keys rotate; + / − zoom. Camera controls also support every operation.
Loading 3D. A 2D illustration on the same timeline is available now.
Stand holding light dumbbells, knees naturally slightly bent, load close to the body.
Lines show grip points or joint paths; dots mark the start and extension checkpoints, with the finish returning to the start. A dead-bug cycle illustrates both sides; actual repetitions are counted per side. The range is illustrative, not a required depth.
Original joint models and animations are teaching illustrations without motion capture or individual calibration. Playback starts paused. Reduced-motion use can inspect checkpoints and the timeline. Camera rotation spans 360°, and zoom only changes viewing distance.
Paused by default. Choose a checkpoint or play to observe a full repetition.
Observation and Equipment
Equipment: Dumbbells
- Keep knees slightly bent and move hips back rather than only squatting down.
- Keep dumbbells near the body and the back stable.
- Extend hips to stand from a controlled range, without deliberately leaning back at the top.
Joints: Hip joint, Knee joint, and Trunk-stability region
Safety and Scope
- Learn an unloaded hinge before light loading. Dumbbells need not touch the floor.
- Stop for back pain, radiating pain, or numbness and seek professional assessment.
Movement-learning information for healthy adults without known exercise contraindications. Sources are reviewed; this does not replace on-site technique assessment.
Reduce Difficulty
- Practice an unloaded hinge, moving hips back with a stable trunk.
Adjustment Boundaries
- Adjust light load only with control, no discomfort, and acceptable performance and recovery. Control determines depth.
